How Do I Record Audio or Video Using the Rich Content Editor?

You can use the Rich Content Editor to record a video. The Rich Content Editor is used in features that support the editor (Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Pages, Quizzes, or Syllabus).

 

Open Rich Content Editor

Open the Rich Content Editor using one of the Curve features which support the Editor.

 

Open Media Comment Tool

Click the Insert/Edit media content button.

 

Record Video/Audio Tab

Click the Record Video/Audio tab.

 

Allow Adobe Flash Player Access

Select to Allow Curve to access your computer's camera and microphone.rce5.png

Note: Your settings will be different depending on your browser of choice. You can open the Settings for your browser to select specific options for your recording. 

 

Select Recording Option

Click the Record icon [1] to begin recording video. To being recording audio only, check the Record Audio only box [2].

 

Stop Recording

The volume level of your recording will continuously update as you record. Click anywhere to stop recording.

 

Review Recording

Click Start Over [1] to re-record your message. To play the recording back, use either of the playback options [2]. Click the Upload icon [3] to upload your recording to the Rich Content Editor. To save the file to your recording, click the Download icon [4].

 

View Audio/Video File

Your audio/video will be automatically inserted into the Rich Content Editor.

 

Save Changes

Click the Save button to save any changes to the post made in the Rich Content Editor.

Note: When using the Rich Content Editor in Assignments, Discussions, Pages, and Quizzes, you have the option to Save & Publish. When using the Rich Content Editor in the Syllabus and Discussions pages, the Save button may appear as “Update Syllabus” or “Post Reply”.
