Generally speaking, Rubrics are added to Quizzes when you have an Outcome inside of the Rubric that you would like to use for alignment purposes. For more information on the benefits of aligning Outcomes to Quizzes, please visit the outcomes alignment lesson.
Note: You cannot use a rubric for grading in quizzes.
In Course Navigation, click the Quizzes link.
Open the quiz by clicking the quiz title.
Show Assignment Rubric
Click the Settings icon  and select the Show Rubric option . A pop-up window will appear in your browser.
Click the Add Rubric button.
Create a new rubric for your quiz . You can also find an existing rubric by clicking the Find a Rubric link .
If you want to write free-form comments to students, select the I'll write free-form comments... checkbox .
If you don't want students to see the score total for the rubric in their quiz results, select the Hide score total for assessment results checkbox . Students can still see the point values for each criterion, but the total score will not be shown at the bottom of the rubric.
When you are finished, click the Create Rubric button .
